ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES:

The 1981/1982 season was quite positive for Inter. Eugenio Bersellini's team, last year on the Beneamata bench, reached fifth place in the league and success in the 35th edition of the Italian Cup, won by the neroazzurri in the double final against Turin. In the first leg, in Milan, the match ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts; in the second leg, in Turin, the result was a draw with goals from Cuttone and Altobelli. “Spillo” Altobelli was one of the main architects of the success in the Italian Cup: the 9 goals in the Cup were added to the 9 in the league and the 3 in the Uefa Cup for a total of 21 overall goals in the 1981/82 season.

In the 1988/89 season, Serie A changes: from 16 teams to 18 participating teams. The 1988/1989 season of Napoli can be said to be positive. On 11 June 1989 the third to last day of the Serie A championship is played. Napoli is on stage at "Cino e Lillo Del Duca" in Ascoli. This match will go down in history due to the attacking debut of Raffaele Di Fusco, a professional goalkeeper. A Napoli full of absences goes to the Marche with only 14 players, including the second blue goalkeeper. The victory of the Scudetto in the previous season allowed Napoli to debut in the prestigious Champions Cup. Despite the good squad, well managed by the coach Bianchi, the progress of the Azzurri in Europe was very disappointing. At the “Vittorio Pozzo” Municipal Stadium in Turin, Ottavio Bianchi's blues challenge Dino Zoff's Juventus. Napoli will conquer one of the most beautiful victories in the history of the matches against Juventus: Carnival after just 3 minutes brings Napoli ahead, who will end the first half with a 3-0 lead thanks to Careca's brace.
