ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES

Lazio, coached by Sven Goran Eriksson, came from the famous 3-0 defeat in the Uefa Cup final against Inter. The transfer market, however, brought Vieri, Stankovic, Mihajilovic, Fernando Couto, Ivan De La Pena and Sergio Conceicao to the Biancoceleste, as well as a recovered Nesta returning from injury. In the championship, Lazio finished in second place but managed to win the Cup Winners' Cup and the Italian Super Cup. Marcelo Salas was the season's top scorer with 24 goals, 15 of which came in the league.

The latter, however, will not do well and will be replaced by Pioli who will not only save Bologna but will also bring him to win against Napoli and Inter and draw with the leaders Juve and Milan. Di Vaio is confirmed as the best scorer of the season for the Felsinei.

A curious fact happened during the second match of the championship: the fans heard from the newspapers that the striker Paul Ince was about to move to Manchester United and they started shouting "We hate Paul Ince", almost making the transfer fail.

In the 1990-91 season, Juventus presented a brand new black away jersey. For the first part of the season, the black jersey was made of a special material, a fabric already experimented by Juventus with the training jersey made in black and white for the pre-season retreat. Coppa Italia crest sewn under the two stars. Kappa logo and Umip logo applied in white.

ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES:

The black perforated jersey is greeted by fans with great enthusiasm, constituting the most sold item that year in Juventus catalogs.  A season to forget due to a series of less than brilliant sports results. Roberto Baggio top scorer with 14 goals.

The Eighties were the best years for Napoli. Two Scudetti and a UEFA Cup arrived, thanks above all to Maradona. Giuliano Giuliani was the goalkeeper of the second Scudetto.
