Italy had just returned from the European Championship final. The group was a tough one: Uruguay, England and Costa Rica. Surprisingly, Italy was eliminated along with England by the group champions, Uruguay and Costa Rica, marking a very low point in the history of the Italian National Team.

France wore this uniform for the two years between the 2012 European Championship and the 2014 World Cup.
